Senior Software Engineer (RoR/Go), SSCS: Authentication (Authentication)

Location: Remote in Canada or the United States

Salary: $139,200–$235,200 USD base salary per year for United States residents

What you will do

• Design and implement authentication features across the Rails monolith and GATE, including token issuance, validation, and identity services.
• Build GATE as a centralized authentication service and migrate token management paths from the Rails monolith.
• Develop authentication mechanisms such as Workload Identity Federation, passkeys, passwordless authentication, service accounts, and composite identities.
• Enhance SAML, LDAP, OIDC, SCIM, SSO, and related automated provisioning capabilities.
• Strengthen access management and address vulnerabilities reported through the HackerOne program.
• Contribute to technical direction, engineering standards, code reviews, roadmap planning, and complex Go and Ruby projects.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Go and/or Ruby in scalable or mission-critical SaaS products.
• Experience with authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SSO, SCIM, LDAP, JWT, RBAC, or IAM.
• Knowledge of token systems, cryptographic signing, and key management.
• Experience taking services from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and implementation.
• Experience diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization problems.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English is required, including clear communication in a remote, largely asynchronous environment.
