What you will do

• Develop and operate production-level Ruby and Go services powering first-party client applications.
• Lead technical design and architecture discussions across product, client app, and domain service teams.
• Identify and drive the extraction of common functionality into shared platform components.
• Integrate with hirify.global’s Ruby on Rails monolith to extend domain capabilities.
• Define testing strategies, SLOs, and safe rollout plans while monitoring telemetry for service health.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and lead incident response as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering (or equivalent degree + experience) delivering production software.
• Proficiency in languages such as Go, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, Rust, or Python.
• Proven experience in software and system design for scalable, reliable services.
• Experience operating live services, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for facilitating cross-team discussions.

Nice to have

• Hands-on production experience with Go and Ruby on Rails.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and RPC frameworks like Twirp.
• Experience building infrastructure for multiple client surfaces (mobile, desktop, CLI).
• Proven ability to work within and extend large existing monolith codebases.
• Experience defining SLOs and implementing observability tooling.
