Aerial Pole Engineering SME (Telecommunications)

Location: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania market, United States; on-site field and utility coordination duties required.

Salary: $83,200–$94,000 yearly

What you will do

• Oversee make-ready engineering projects, crews, production, quality, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with power companies, telecommunications entities, contractors, vendors, clients, and internal project teams.
• Accelerate aerial make-ready applications and track them through engineering, permitting, and construction.
• Conduct virtual utility ride-outs, pre-construction field inspections, and verification of utility pole measurements.
• Coordinate pole attachment applications, ROW and easement permits, invoices, material forecasts, and cost controls.
• Maintain project trackers and reports, escalate risks, and train client team leads, supervisors, and engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of telecommunications network experience.
• Understanding of network architecture and experience reading, interpreting, and extrapolating aerial and underground FTTH plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of utility attachments, pole attachment agreements, ROW permitting, construction, quality control, and construction prints.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with utility companies, linemen, contractors, and diverse technical and operations groups while following safety protocols.

Nice to have

• Experience working for an electric utility or with utility pole owners.
• Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Katapult, OCalc, or SpidaCalc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
