Staff Supplier Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality): Own supplier quality strategy across new product introduction (NPI) and production for hardware reliability and scalable robotic systems, with an accent on supplier qualification, part qualification, and quality system execution. Focus on driving measurable improvements in quality, yield, and field performance through CAPA, RCA, and 8D investigations while partnering across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing.

Location: Onsite in Salem, OR

What you will do

  • Define and execute supplier quality strategy to support rapid scaling of robotic hardware production while maintaining reliability, performance, and compliance.
  • Lead supplier qualification and development, including audits, risk assessments, and capability evaluations to maintain an Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Drive end-to-end part qualification for new products, suppliers, and design changes (FAI, PPAP) to ensure production readiness.
  • Partner with engineering early to influence DFM/DFA decisions and ensure manufacturability and supplier readiness.
  • Analyze supplier performance data and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve quality, yield, and delivery.
  • Lead complex supplier escalations using root cause analysis (RCA), 8D investigations, and sustainable corrective actions; mentor other SQEs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or related roles in hardware manufacturing environments.
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing processes (e.g., die casting, stamping, forging, CNC machining, injection molding) with strong process capability and controls knowledge.
  • Strong quality systems/tooling knowledge including PPAP, FAI, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, control plans, and SPC.
  • Advanced proficiency in GD&T and its application in design, inspection, and supplier qualification.
  • Proven ability to assess and develop suppliers, including leading audits and driving performance improvements.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and work onsite in Salem, OR.
