Software Engineer II (C#/.NET)

Location: Dundee, United Kingdom; hybrid

What you will do

• Develop high-quality, reusable, and supportable software components.
• Diagnose system failures caused by software defects and implement corrective solutions.
• Analyze, design, and implement mechanisms that improve code stability, performance, and reusability.
• Conduct unit testing, track defects, and ensure compliance with functional and nonfunctional requirements.
• Participate in and lead code reviews, estimate work, and support Sprint commitments.
• Prepare technical documentation and training materials while collaborating with solution management and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 4–6 years of software design and development experience, including at least 4 years with .NET, ASP.NET, and C#.
• Professional experience with WPF and Windows-based applications.
• Experience with SQL, XAML, test frameworks, NuGet packages, object-oriented programming, and Windows programming.
• Strong understanding of software development and quality assurance practices, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement and coding best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with MySQL, Agile development, and software development life cycle models.
• Knowledge of XFS, ATMs, embedded hardware, PCB devices, firmware programming, and low-level interfaces.
• Experience with Jira, Jenkins, GitHub or Subversion, and NUnit.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor IDE, or Windsurf.
