Application Engineer (Asset Management)

Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN, with on-site work required at least three days per week.

Salary: $94,175–$127,413 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, test, deploy, and support investment application components and subsystems.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations for portfolio holdings, reference data, benchmark and index data, pricing, and performance workflows.
• Develop and support APIs and integrations across internal systems and external vendor platforms.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, validation, reporting, and other recurring operational processes.
• Support analytics platforms, manage dependencies, and maintain reproducible data environments.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across application code, data pipelines, APIs, databases, and Linux or Windows infrastructure, including participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, business, mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of technical experience in application engineering, data engineering, or production support.
• Experience with Java, OpenShift, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, or similar technologies.
• Experience with vendor package implementation, system integration, data pipelines, APIs, and troubleshooting across application, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to support production systems, adapt across modern and legacy technologies, and improve operational efficiency through automation.
