Staff Solutions Engineer (Data)

Salary: $194,212–$242,765 USD annual base pay; OTE of $242,765–$303,456.25 USD

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers and connect technical requirements to measurable business outcomes.
• Design enterprise-grade data transformation and analytics architectures using dbt.
• Partner with Sales to communicate the technical and business value of the dbt platform.
• Lead customer evaluations, technical validation, trials, and proof-of-value engagements.
• Guide customers through architecture, security, governance, deployment, adoption, and expansion.
• Share customer insights with Product and Engineering and develop reusable best practices for the Field Engineering organization.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role in data, analytics, or BI.
• Strong foundation in SQL, data transformation, ETL/ELT, and data modeling.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics architectures.
• Ability to translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with data practitioners, executives, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt or analytics engineering.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or other modern cloud data platforms.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, Kimball, Data Vault, or 3NF methodologies.
• Experience with Informatica, Boomi, Talend, or other enterprise data integration platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise evaluations, migrations, or transformation initiatives.
