TL;DR

Senior Legal Counsel (Proptech): Standing up the legal function from the ground up for a parking real estate operating system with an accent on commercial contracts, M&A, and multi-state regulatory compliance. Focus on building scalable legal playbooks, managing data privacy for ALPR systems, and enabling aggressive business growth.

Location: San Francisco or Remote (Must be based in the US / US time zones). Expected travel ~6 weeks per year for offsites and onboarding.

Salary: $175K – $230K • Offers Equity

hirify.global is building a unified, data-rich operating system for parking real estate to optimize assets via real-time data and AI.

What you will do

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with property owners, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Lead M&A execution, including diligence, risk allocation, LOIs, and post-close integration.
  • Maintain and extend regulatory and permitting compliance infrastructure across 40+ states.
  • Oversee data privacy and governance related to license plate recognition (ALPR) and camera systems.
  • Manage the company's IP portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Advise on employment law, corporate governance, and support fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience as the primary legal lead in a high-growth, lean startup environment.
  • Proven track record in M&A transactions and multi-state operational compliance.
  • Deep expertise in drafting complex commercial contracts (MSAs, SOWs, licensing).
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations, especially regarding location and camera data.
  • California bar admission is strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with long hours, including nights and weekends.
