Associate Legal Counsel

TL;DR

Associate Legal Counsel (Legal): Managing global legal affairs and commercial contracts for a high-growth business with an accent on risk management and regulatory compliance. Focus on negotiating vendor and client agreements, drafting internal policies, and navigating multi-jurisdictional legal challenges.

Location: Must be based in New York City (NYC). Hybrid setup: WFH option on Thursday and Friday.

Compensation: $150,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Negotiate complex commercial contracts with global clients and vendors.
• Collaborate with client services and compliance teams to ensure safe knowledge access.
• Draft and implement internal policies to manage organizational risk.
• Develop and deliver legal and compliance training to the business.
• Manage evolving legal areas including IP, data privacy, sanctions, and employment law.
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• JD from a US law school.
• Attorney licensed to practice in New York.
• At least 3 years of experience at a top-tier US law firm.
• Ability to deliver high-quality commercial advice under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, scaling commercial environment.

Nice to have

• Experience drafting and negotiating client-facing commercial contracts.
• Background in litigation or arbitration.
• Experience with regulatory and securities matters or a general corporate law background.
