Architect (Databricks): Designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms with an accent on Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog governance, and cloud-native data solutions. Focus on optimizing Spark workloads, establishing CI/CD automation, and ensuring platform security and cost efficiency.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Princeton, NJ (3 days onsite per week)

Salary: $155,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design scalable and secure Databricks Lakehouse architectures.
• Lead the implementation of data engineering, ingestion, and transformation frameworks.
• Define enterprise data governance and security standards using Unity Catalog.
• Architect CI/CD, DevOps, and monitoring for Databricks environments.
• Optimize Spark workloads, cluster utilization, and platform cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with business, security, and infrastructure teams on enterprise data initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Princeton, NJ
• Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks platform architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Spark, Delta Lake, PySpark, SQL, and distributed data processing.
• Experience with Unity Catalog, RBAC, access management, and governance frameworks.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, Terraform, DevOps automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security controls.

Nice to have

• Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
• Exposure to AI/ML enablement within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, MDM platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.
