Location: Must be based in Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, or North Carolina (exceptionally well-qualified candidates in other East Coast locations will also be considered).

Salary: $219,100 — $301,300 USD

What you will do

• Partner with sales teams to help customers solve complex business problems using the Databricks platform.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt the Data Intelligence Platform.
• Consult on big data architecture and execute proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-to guides, and application demonstrations.
• Promote open source projects like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow within developer communities.
• Travel within the assigned territory to meet with customers.

Requirements

• 10+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies.
• Proven experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Data Engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and Data Warehousing (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS) technologies.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
