What you will do

• Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies to improve portfolio economic returns.
• Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, and retention strategies for retail lending features.
• Make data-driven decisions with a focus on marginal decision-making and portfolio performance.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes from concept to delivery.
• Monitor credit KPIs and identify operational inefficiencies within the Credit department.
• Ensure compliance and approval of first-line credit risk functions by internal and external regulators.

Requirements

• Must be based in Germany.
• Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products like credit cards or personal loans.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, statistics, physics, maths, or economics.
• Solid understanding of credit policy governance frameworks and 2nd/3rd line of defence.
• Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models for retail credit products.
• Knowledge of the German housing and mortgage market.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Working knowledge of SQL, R, or Python.
• Willingness to learn new technologies to help the business scale.
