Senior Internal Auditor – DACH & Regulatory Assurance

Location: Hybrid, based in Berlin, Germany or Vienna, Austria

What you will do

• Lead and support end-to-end internal audits across group entities in the DACH region.
• Help transition outsourced audit programs into structured in-house operations.
• Test the design and operating effectiveness of operational, financial, AML, sanctions, and regulatory controls.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Product teams to address findings and track remediation plans.
• Provide audit feedback during product development to embed regulatory and security considerations before launch.
• Support risk-based audit planning, methodology improvements, and data analytics initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of audit experience in Big 4, professional services, banking, fintech, or financial services.
• Practical knowledge of EU/DACH regulations, including AML/CTF, MiCAR, MiFID II, PSD2, or GDPR.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or a related field.
• Professional proficiency in German and English, including the ability to review regulatory documentation and lead discussions.
• Relevant CIA, CAMS, CISA, or CPA certification achieved or in progress is preferred.
