Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Engineering

Location: Remote Canada

Hiring range: CAD 104,000–139,000 for Canada Tier 1 locations; CAD 95,000–126,000 for Canada Tier 2 locations.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and evolve hirify.global’s internal developer infrastructure platform.
• Support CI/CD, observability, Kubernetes optimization, environment bootstrapping, and cloud cost optimization.
• Create Claude skills and design agentic workflows that improve developer productivity.
• Guide technical decisions, platform adoption, and engineering standards with a focus on usability and maintainability.
• Collaborate across functions, write technical proposals and decision briefs, and deliver platform features.
• Resolve unclear and urgent infrastructure tasks while supporting development teams operating their services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
• Proven technical leadership experience and strong communication skills.
• Expertise in several of ArgoCD, Grafana, Kubernetes, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, and cloud cost optimization.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native technologies; GCP is preferred and AWS is acceptable.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and align technology with user and organizational needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems architecture and design.
• Knowledge of cloud security and governance principles.
• Experience designing agentic workflows or building internal developer platforms.
• Database expertise.
