Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid work with an office in San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $165,000–$185,000 base salary per year, plus equity and potential discretionary performance bonuses.

A mission-driven photography technology company building an integrated workflow for photographers, from creation and editing to client delivery and business management.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate the AWS and EKS platform with Terraform, Helm or Kustomize, and Flux GitOps.
• Own production cutovers covering ingress, DNS, workers, scheduled jobs, telemetry, dashboards, and rollback plans.
• Partner with product and data teams on namespaces, secrets, preview environments, and shared infrastructure ownership.
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD, self-hosted runners, container images, and deployment pipelines for multiple language ecosystems.
• Operate platform services including MySQL, Mongo, Valkey or Redis, and OpenSearch.
• Improve Cloudflare and CloudFront configuration, observability, autoscaling, incident response, documentation, and infrastructure reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering experience with hands-on production ownership.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes or EKS, Linux, Terraform, AWS, IAM or IRSA, VPC networking, NAT, and DNS.
• Experience with at least one of RDS or MySQL, ElastiCache or Valkey, and OpenSearch.
• Experience with GitOps and CI/CD using Flux or Helm and GitHub Actions.
• Comfort supporting CI pipelines, container images, and runners for Go, Python, PHP, Node, Java, Ruby, or similar ecosystems.
• Experience leading architecture discussions, troubleshooting complex production issues, explaining tradeoffs, and communicating platform practices to other teams.

Nice to have

• Cloudflare DNS, CDN, WAF, and zone migration experience, or CloudFront experience.
• Experience with OpenSearch, Valkey or Redis, MySQL, Mongo, Kafka, Datadog, Groundcover, Honeycomb, or OTEL.
• GitHub Actions Runner Controller, preview environments, Flux, Helm, or Kustomize experience.
• Experience with high-scale consumer or creator products, AI tools, or creative communities.
• BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
