Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY; work in person at the NYC headquarters when not traveling. Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time. Relocation support is provided.

Salary: $150,000–$275,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

Arena Physica builds Atlas, an AI platform that uses physics-grounded intelligence to verify, debug, and optimize hardware across its lifecycle.

What you will do

• Design and implement core technical architecture for Atlas’s AI capabilities in hardware testing and optimization.
• Build large-scale data ingestion and indexing systems for hardware documentation, telemetry, and simulation results.
• Integrate Atlas with engineering systems of record, laboratory equipment, and test-bench hardware.
• Develop multi-agent systems, multimodal agentic workflows, and end-to-end product features.
• Build high-throughput, low-latency pipelines combining large language models with physics-informed deep learning models.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, Product, and Go-To-Market teams to turn user feedback into scalable features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology company.
• Experience building backend, distributed, and platform systems.
• Strong understanding of scalable system design, performance optimization, and resilience engineering.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in or experience with hardware, electrical engineering, and applying AI to these domains.
• Ability to work in person at the NYC headquarters and travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

• Familiarity with building multi-agent systems.
