What you will do

• Coordinate trademark and patent portfolio activities, including filings, prosecution tracking, and renewals.
• Develop AI agents and automated workflows using Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, and Azure AI to scale legal operations.
• Manage IP budgets, including spend forecasting, accrual inputs, and invoice processing.
• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide actionable visibility into IP spend, portfolio performance, and KPIs.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for outside legal counsel and service providers to ensure budget discipline.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement practical, documented improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in an IP paralegal or legal operations role.
• Must be based in Raleigh, NC or Beaverton, OR for hybrid work.
• Hands-on experience with IP systems such as CPI, WebTMS, PatSnap, or Questel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically Power BI, Excel, and Power Automate.
• Experience managing outside counsel, vendor invoicing, and budget forecasting.
• Strong communication skills to drive alignment across legal, engineering, and finance teams.

Nice to have

• Paralegal certificate or IP-specific accreditation.
• Experience with open-source software governance.
• Demonstrated ability to build AI agents or bots for workflow optimization.
