Team Lead, Software Development

Location: Hybrid, based in the Toronto, Ontario office two or more days per week

What you will do

• Lead a software development team and collaborate with development managers, product managers, product designers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Provide design and architectural guidance for complex applications, services, components, modules, and platform capabilities.
• Maintain hands-on coding and promote software engineering best practices, modelling standards, and development methodologies.
• Own the delivery and quality of software capabilities, including functional and non-functional requirements for performance, security, and compliance.
• Plan and complete medium-scale projects, allocating work, managing change control and risks, and tracking budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support team performance and development through quality assessments, feedback, recommendations, and employment decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 7+ years of experience in relevant software developer roles, including senior software development experience.
• At least 1 year of formal or informal team leadership experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues, evaluate technologies, and communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, collaborate cross-functionally, and uphold security, privacy, and ethical practices.
