Sr. Staff Backend Engineer (AI Security)

Location: Hybrid role in Ramat Gan, Israel

What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Python within a microservices architecture.
• Design and build data pipelines and ETL workflows that ingest, transform, and unify data from diverse security and business sources.
• Lead technical solutions from initial design through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Own system reliability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization for high-volume enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend and backend engineers, and UX designers.
• Lead design discussions, establish engineering standards, and drive best practices across the codebase.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience delivering complex SaaS solutions in production.
• Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot or a comparable high-level backend language.
• Hands-on experience with data-intensive systems, ETL pipelines, big data stores, and high-throughput processing.
• Experience with high-scale, multi-tenant cloud architecture, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration.
• Ability to lead technical work autonomously from design through deployment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with backend data infrastructure for LLM workflows, RAG platforms, or AI-driven security analytics pipelines.
• Experience as a team lead or tech lead.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
