Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: Onsite in Manila (One Ayala Tower 2)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain reliable backend applications using a modern tech stack.
• Implement automated tests and establish efficient CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design and define new features.
• Integrate security best practices throughout all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Support the growth of the engineering team through mentorship and participation in technical interviews.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java 8 or higher (Java 11+ preferred).
• Strong competency in Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience in RESTful API development and code versioning tools, specifically Git.
• Proven track record in test automation using JUnit and Mockito.
• Must be located in or able to work onsite at One Ayala Tower 2, Manila.
• Effective communication skills for working in a multicultural environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and build tools like Maven.
• An Agile mindset.
