TL;DR
Systems Architect (Connected Medical Devices) (System Architecture/Healthcare): Owning end-to-end data flows and system architecture across connected medical devices, software, and cloud components with an accent on interface definition, safety, performance, reliability, and cybersecurity compliance. Focus on evaluating technical trade-offs, aligning multidisciplinary teams and vendors, mitigating system-level risks, and supporting over-the-air updates.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end data flows and system architecture for accountable features across connected medical devices, software, and cloud components.
  • Define system-level data flows, interface documentation, and acceptance criteria for verification and validation teams and external vendors.
  • Evaluate technical design alternatives with subsystem experts and stakeholders while ensuring safety, performance, reliability, and functionality.
  • Align product teams, business units, multidisciplinary stakeholders, and vendors on system-level deliverables and expectations.
  • Identify technical risks, define mitigation approaches, and guide teams through complex problem resolution.
  • Support planning of over-the-air updates, product development processes, and ecosystem cybersecurity compliance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, such as Computer Engineering or Mechatronics, Science such as Biophysics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with software development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in new product development environments involving hardware.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and complex environments.

Nice to have

  • Postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Engineering.
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional, multi-domain teams.
