What you will do

• Define overall PIC32 microcontroller SoC architectures, including pinouts, power management, embedded memory, security, operating modes, and production testing.
• Own peripheral and deeply embedded IP architectures, including programming models, interfaces, feature sets, and theory-of-operation documentation.
• Define architectures supporting functional safety and cybersecurity, including ISO 26262, SEooC concepts, ISO 21434, and TARA analysis.
• Gather and refine system requirements with marketing, customers, FAEs, hardware, software, analogue, and verification teams.
• Perform feasibility studies and trade-off analysis across cost, features, schedules, and system-level constraints.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and guide architectural decisions across multiple disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in digital design and/or SoC architecture.
• Experience with embedded power systems, SoC security, analogue control, or MCU architectures such as PIC32.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex concepts to diverse technical audiences.
• Ability to make and drive architectural decisions while incorporating input from technical experts.

Nice to have

• SoC or FPGA development with ARM, MIPS, or RISC-V embedded CPU architectures and standard system buses.
• Functional safety and cybersecurity development experience, including ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Polarion.
• Knowledge of embedded flash or other non-volatile memory technologies.
• Experience with peripheral programming models, MCU application development, or domains such as motor control, Ethernet, USB, cryptography, DMA, cache systems, audio/video, cameras, and embedded analogue subsystems.
