TL;DR

Texas Executive Director (Education): Leading state-level strategy and operations to empower teacher leadership and drive systemic policy change with an accent on advocacy, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. Focus on building coalitions, managing regional teams, and advancing student outcomes through evidence-based policy initiatives.

Location: Must be based in Texas and able to travel to Austin and throughout the state.

Salary: $155,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Set and execute the vision for local impact, aligning regional strategies with national goals.
  • Lead advocacy campaigns and develop teacher leadership models to influence education policy.
  • Manage annual fundraising goals ranging from $350,000 to $2M by cultivating donor relationships.
  • Build and steward local coalitions, cabinets, and networks of champions to support the mission.
  • Hire, train, and manage local staff, fostering a culture of high-candor and coaching.
  • Oversee regional budgets and ensure operational excellence in all local programs.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Texas and be available for regular travel within the state.
  • Proven experience in systems leadership, advocacy, and strategic planning.
  • Strong background in fundraising and portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Deep commitment to equitable student outcomes and systemic change.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and narrative building.
