TL;DR

Manager, Business Development (BDR) (GTM/AI): Build and scale a BDR function from near zero, shipping an AI-native qualification model, outbound motion, and AE handoff while iterating as signals come in. Focus on creating an instrumented prospecting pipeline that converts developer-led demand into enterprise pipeline and on recruiting, ramping, and coaching a high-performing BDR team.

Location: New York, NY; San Mateo, CA

Salary: $220,000 - $240,000 USD (On Target Earnings, plus equity)

What you will do

  • Build the BDR function from a blank page: team, playbook, and the systems behind qualification and handoff.
  • Recruit, define the BDR profile, set up the interview loop, hire, and ramp reps while the motion is still forming.
  • Design and iterate an AI-native, instrumented prospecting motion across inbound and outbound.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales Strategy to convert developer-led demand into enterprise pipeline.

Requirements

  • People management experience: hired, ramped, and coached SDR/BDR reps directly.
  • 5+ years in GTM roles, including 2+ years managing SDR/BDR teams.
  • Proven track record generating and scaling pipeline.
  • Experience building a function, playbook, or team from scratch.
  • Deep curiosity about AI/ML with a desire to become an expert in inference and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor) and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience at an AI/ML, infrastructure, developer-tools, or API-first company (ideally hypergrowth).
  • Experience scaling a BDR team through a Series B-to-C-and-beyond inflection.
  • Hands-on fluency with CRM and sales engagement tools (Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo) and AI-native prospecting tools.
