What you will do

• Review, evaluate, and appeal outstanding, denied, and underpaid claims using proprietary software.
• Analyze payment documentation and provider contract information to determine correct reimbursement.
• Review hospital contracts to identify and collect cash payments from insurance companies.
• Acquire medical records and supporting documentation to submit complex underpayment appeals.
• Perform telephone follow-up with payers to facilitate the resolution of outstanding receivables.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED (required); Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in the healthcare field specifically within billing or collections.
• 1+ years of client-facing or customer service experience.
• Intermediate understanding of ICD, HCPCS/CPT coding, medical terminology, and the revenue cycle process.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
