Principal Fire Protection Engineer

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; international travel of approximately 10–15% is required for project sites.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and serve as the engineering authority for complex fire protection and life safety systems.
• Design automatic sprinkler, special hazard suppression, fire pump, alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Perform and approve hydraulic calculations and water supply analyses.
• Analyze NFPA and International Building/Fire Codes and translate requirements into constructible designs.
• Lead junior engineers and design staff while reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering teams and support site validation, construction oversight, and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in fire protection systems design and engineering.
• Senior-level experience leading large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Expert knowledge of NFPA and International Building/Fire Codes.
• Professional Engineer license with a Fire Protection specialty is highly preferred.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, mentoring, and project coordination skills.
