What you will do

• Conduct design review and commissioning for fire protection, alarm, and life safety systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and assess means of egress sizing and smoke control equipment.
• Evaluate existing facilities for building code compliance and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Develop statements of work and provide technical assistance for built environment projects.
• Apply fire and life safety principles to create performance-based solutions for design challenges.
• Provide engineering support for inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and protection systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in life safety and fire protection code consulting, design review, and commissioning.
• Strong background in the application of NFPA codes, standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to provide on-site support at a government location in the Washington, DC area.
