What you will do
- Lead the development, optimization, and execution of innovative functional pharmacology assays using complex iPSC-derived cellular and engineered organoid/tissue models.
- Drive the selection and advancement of lead drug candidates across multiple disease indications through rigorous in vitro characterization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Discovery Research, Protein Sciences, Structural Biology, and Safety Assessment.
- Design and implement robust, high-throughput sample preparation and data analysis workflows in coordination with automation and bioinformatics specialists.
- Architect complex screening cascades and present findings to project teams and senior leadership.
- Oversee third-party vendors and CRO partnerships to ensure quality execution and timely delivery of data.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology, ophthalmology, neuroscience, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral or pharmaceutical experience with a strong record of high-profile publications.
- Prior experience with ophthalmology/neuroscience therapeutics in drug discovery is required.
- Hands-on experience with iPSCs, including differentiation for disease modeling and CRISPR gene editing.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly across cross-functional project teams while maintaining scientific independence.
- Expertise in quantitative methods and a resilient experimental approach.
Nice to have
- Experience with in vitro drug screening and functional assays.
- Experience with automated or semi-automated instrumentation and AI/ML applications.
- Previous pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in relevant models.
