What you will do

• Design spacecraft avionics assemblies using SolidWorks and produce dimensioned, annotated drawings per ASME Y14.5.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS Workbench to assess design requirements.
• Develop and execute detailed test plans for vibration, shock, and thermal testing of integrated hardware.
• Prepare detailed design reviews and analysis reports documenting technical results.
• Resolve mechanical integration and assembly issues to support the manufacture of complex electronics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, electrical design, and program management teams.

Requirements

• 2-7 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role focused on design and/or structural analysis.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience with closed-form or finite element analysis (FEA) for thermal and structural assessment.
• Practical experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be authorized to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with spacecraft hardware and electronics packaging.
• Proficiency in ANSYS and Teamcenter PLM software.
• Understanding of Steinberg fatigue analysis for PCB assemblies.
• Experience with random vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum requirements and testing.
