What you will do

• Own the mechanical direction of satellite missions from requirements to launch.
• Design, build, and test mission-specific components and payloads using SolidWorks.
• Lead mechanical design reviews and coordinate with structural and thermal engineering teams.
• Manage environmental testing campaigns including vibration and TVAC.
• Document build procedures and maintain technical documentation for mission-critical hardware.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of robust satellite systems.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or asylee) to comply with ITAR/EAR regulations.
• 8+ years of experience in designing and testing high-reliability hardware.
• Demonstrated proficiency in leading mechanical design for spacecraft or complex electromechanical systems.
• Mastery of CAD (SolidWorks), GD&T, BOMs, and tolerance budgets.
• Experience technically leading or managing a small team of engineers or technicians.
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

• Flight heritage with hardware successfully operated in space.
• Experience with deployable hardware like solar arrays or antennas.
• Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as FEMAP or ANSYS.
• Experience with thermal management systems for spacecraft.
• Software skills in Python or MATLAB.
