What you will do

• Shape the future of storage and database products by leveraging hirify.global's unique global network.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from inception to release across all layers of the stack.
• Architect globally distributed data consistency models and optimize storage engine performance.
• Design novel APIs for new data-centric products.
• Develop components for the R2 Data Catalog and R2 SQL distributed engine to handle petabyte-scale queries.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience working with distributed systems.
• Proven track record of building and managing high-volume software applications.
• Strong foundation in computer science: data structures, algorithms, and OO or functional design.
• Proficiency in at least one strongly-typed language, preferably Rust, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience debugging and identifying failure modes in large-scale distributed systems.
• Authorization to receive software/technology controlled under U.S. export control laws is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building and managing large-scale data storage platforms.
• Experience in low-latency real-time environments (e.g., HFT, game engine architecture, payment systems).
• Proficiency in non-garbage collected languages such as Rust or C++.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems.
• Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
