Salary: $155,000 - $165,000 USD

What you will do

  • Lead a team of up to 12 engineers, owning end-to-end delivery and outcomes using a kanban-based process.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop engineers, with a specific focus on building AI fluency across the team.
  • Model and reinforce AI-native development practices and the use of agentic systems in daily operations.
  • Translate business priorities into clear, sequenced work with defined outcomes and measurable success criteria.
  • Collaborate as a peer with a Principal Engineer to balance technical direction with delivery and people management.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Boston, MA.
  • 3+ years of people management experience in a software engineering context, managing at least 5 engineers.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong technical background to evaluate designs and trade-offs.
  • Proven fluency with kanban-based delivery, including WIP management and flow metrics.
  • Demonstrated depth in using AI-assisted development tools and agentic systems.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading teams through significant shifts in delivery models or tooling.
  • Background in financial services technology or other highly regulated, complex domains.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-native or agentic development environments.
