What you will do
- Optimize manufacturing processes and maintain machining paths for complex components with tight tolerances.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
- Provide Design for Manufacture (DfM) guidance and support APQP activities, including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Design and review specialized tooling and fixturing solutions for production.
- Manage manufacturing routings in SAP/Solumina and approve technical documentation, including Work Instructions (WIs) and SOPs.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities within the prismatic machining cell.
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing engineering within a precision machining environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tool selection, and fixture design.
- Experience with root cause analysis, APQP, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
Nice to have
- CAM programming experience, ideally Edgecam or Siemens NX.
- Expertise in 5-axis milling and NC post-processing.
- Six Sigma qualification or practical application experience.
- Experience with SAP, Solumina, PPAP, and GD&T methodologies.
