Hardware Mechanical Engineer (Medtech)

Location: On-site in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. Occasional travel to partner sites in Europe and the UK may be required for less than 5% of the time.

What you will do

• Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from early concepts and detailed design through verification and production transfer.
• Own the detailed design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create and maintain CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Identify design risks early and propose practical, evidence-based solutions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, technicians, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• BA, BSc, MA, or MSc in a relevant mechanical or design discipline.
• More than 3 years of experience delivering mechanical solutions.
• Understanding of materials, tolerancing, analysis, and other engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or product development environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate requirements into practical designs.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical device design and engineering under ISO 13485 and GMP requirements.
• Experience launching devices in the medtech sector.
