Wing Industrial Architect (Aerospace)

Location: Filton, Bristol Area, United Kingdom; hybrid working with flexible hours around core hours.

What you will do

• Co-architect industrial system concepts for new wing programmes, derivatives, and major aircraft modifications.
• Support industrial readiness for programme launch and ramp-up.
• Perform value stream analysis, value stream mapping, and rate capacity analysis using takt time, cycle time, lead time, and OEE.
• Apply lean principles to line design and support industrial performance assessments.
• Help mature industrial ramp-up simulation tools and support digital factory deployments, including virtual reality, 3DExperience, and digital twins.
• Collaborate with a transnational team across the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany while building expertise across wing components.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge and experience in metallic manufacturing processes and elementary part manufacturing.
• Understanding of traditional and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, including additive methods.
• Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and make evidence-based decisions.
• Successful candidates must undergo BPSS and Export Control checks, including a criminal record check.
• Professional experience in manufacturing engineering or a related industrial discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience working with suppliers or research partners.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
• Background in Industry 4.0.
