Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Santa Clara, California, US. Regular field walks and construction-site work are required.

What you will do

• Design and lay out wet and dry piping, HVAC, exhaust, fire suppression, plumbing, and process chemical and gas delivery systems.
• Engineer retrofits for existing building systems supporting new equipment installations.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification.
• Coordinate utility requirements with equipment manufacturers, client stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Review RFIs and submittals and provide construction administration and factory integration support.
• Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and field personnel throughout design and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 3 years of practical mechanical facilities engineering experience covering HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related systems.
• Engineer in Training certification with active progression toward a Professional Engineer license.
• Must be fully authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
• Must pass required background checks and drug screenings.
• Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, work on catwalks and in confined spaces, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of experience with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, cleanroom operations, or tool installation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Navisworks.
• At least 1 year of field engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and interest in industrial architecture and construction.
