Mechanical Engineering Intern

Location: Pittsburgh and Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and project documentation.
• Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, fuels, and related mechanical systems.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Learn how system loads, equipment selections, layouts, specifications, and deliverables are developed.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant coursework in engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, HVAC, or related technical subjects.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to participate in site visits, field observations, project meetings, and multidisciplinary work.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, or project experience in mechanical or building systems design.
• Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software.
• Involvement in ASHRAE, ASME, or related professional organizations.
