Senior Data Engineer (Cerner)

Location: Remote - Nationwide within the United States; travel to and onsite work at client, temporary, or corporate office locations may be required as business needs require.

Salary: $101,600–$175,200 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Develop, write, and maintain Cerner queries and scripts for high-quality data extraction and delivery.
• Contribute to Cerner development and data extraction, with emphasis on vendor and revenue cycle data.
• Work with clinical, hospital billing, and physician/professional billing datasets.
• Collaborate with a small engineering team to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.
• Translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality, and availability for analytics and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Cerner development experience and 6+ years of overall data engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience extracting data directly from Cerner, including vendor-specific data.
• Revenue cycle management experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with Cerner Command Language, Cerner data models, and revenue cycle workflows.
• Strong Microsoft SQL experience; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work remotely nationwide in the United States and travel for onsite work when business needs require.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Azure, and Python.
• Experience supporting downstream analytics, reporting, or operational workflows.
• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and infrastructure used for Cerner access and data extraction.
