Senior Data Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $155,000–$175,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade data platforms and scalable data pipelines.
• Build reliable ETL/ELT workflows, batch and streaming processing systems, data lakes, and cloud-native data solutions.
• Translate business and analytical requirements into secure, governed, and maintainable data architectures.
• Design dimensional models, data warehouses, data marts, partitioning strategies, and high-performance database solutions.
• Deploy and operate data platforms across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data engineering, software engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience building and supporting production-grade enterprise data engineering solutions; the posting also specifies 6+ years of experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, Java, data structures, database design, distributed computing, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Production experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures, real-time streaming, Apache Flink, Apache NiFi, RabbitMQ, or equivalent technologies.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native deployment.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, fault tolerance, replication, partitioning, high availability, and large-scale processing architectures.
• Experience with data governance, master data management, data lineage, metadata management, data quality automation, security compliance, and DataOps.
