Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Fremont, California, United States

Base compensation: $133,000–$150,000 per year, with potential additional variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design and lead development of modern data engineering, data warehousing, and data lake solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Implement data management using Medallion Architecture.
• Develop data platforms with Azure hirify.global, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, and Talend.
• Lead development teams, manage project timelines, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on technical design and development efforts.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in modern data engineering, data warehousing, and data lake technologies on Azure.
• At least 12 years of experience with SQL, schema design, and dimensional data modeling.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure data storage technologies.
• Strong experience with big data platforms; Databricks experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and technical leadership skills.
