What you will do

• Lead and supervise a team of approximately 15-20 direct reports (production mechanics).
• Manage parts inventory, including vendor selection and cost tracking.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment repairs are completed on time.
• Monitor machine efficiency, daily throughput, and equipment downtime to maintain workflow.
• Coach, motivate, and develop technicians while managing departmental administrative work.
• Coordinate with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.

Requirements

• Must be based in Edgewood, NY (100% on-site role).
• Work schedule: Night shift (5 pm – 1:30 am), extending to 5 am during high volume, including weekends and holidays.
• Associate’s degree or Technical/Trade School certification.
• 5+ years of experience in the operation and repair of production equipment.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment.
• Proven proficiency in insertion and bindery equipment, including electronic and electric circuit experience.

Nice to have

• Specialized experience in electrical and electronics repair.
• Knowledge of Jet/IQ reporting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
