Journeyman Asset Management Specialist (IT Asset Management)

What you will do

• Track, audit, and manage hardware, software licenses, and cloud assets throughout their lifecycles.
• Support budget formulation and resource planning with inventory reports and license utilization metrics.
• Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and asset repositories with accurate lifecycle data.
• Coordinate software renewals, vendor agreements, procurement activities, and delivery timelines.
• Analyze asset utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimization targets.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineering leads to document newly deployed technologies and maintain operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing hardware and software lifecycles in federal or enterprise IT asset management environments.
• Experience tracking software licensing agreements, vendor compliance, configuration management, procurement, and IT resource planning.
• Experience with enterprise ITAM tools or relational databases, including inventory, lifecycle, and maintenance tracking.
• Experience using enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with the U.S. Coast Guard, Software Yard, or Department of Homeland Security programs.
• Knowledge of USCG financial systems, contracting lifecycles, or PEO C5I acquisition frameworks.
• CITAM, CSAM, or ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience auditing software baselines against DISA STIGs or federal software security requirements.
• Cloud asset management and FinOps experience in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
