Local government body providing registration, bereavement, and celebratory services for the residents of the hirify.global.

What you will do

  • Register births, deaths, stillbirths, marriages, and civil partnerships according to legal statutes and performance targets.
  • Conduct marriages, civil partnerships, and citizenship ceremonies at approved premises.
  • Perform celebratory services, including Renewal of Vows, Commitment, and Welcoming ceremonies.
  • Manage general office duties, including reception, telephone inquiries, and email correspondence.
  • Prepare and issue official certificates and handle the collection of relevant fees.
  • Facilitate the Tell Us Once service and process correction applications based on Registrar General guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to commute to Hornchurch and Romford, UK.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak confidently in public.
  • Competence in using standard software packages.
  • Flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends, bank holidays, and evenings.
  • Must not be disqualified under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Regulations 1968 (e.g., non-discharged bankrupts, medical practitioners, ministers of religion, or funeral business professionals).
