Principal Applied AI Engineer (Finance)

Location: Virtual Office (Massachusetts), United States; work-from-home opportunities are available.

Salary: $193,600–$340,600 base compensation annually, with possible commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Architect and lead production agentic AI and generative AI systems for finance workflows such as forecasting, reporting, and decision support.
• Design multi-agent solutions using LLMs, tool-use frameworks, RAG, model chaining, and dynamic prompting.
• Build predictive models for time-series forecasting and customer attrition across customer segments.
• Develop scalable AI/ML services, APIs, internal integrations, and cloud-native systems.
• Establish MLOps practices covering deployment, monitoring, retraining, governance, and drift detection.
• Set technical direction, lead cross-functional initiatives, and mentor data and technical specialists.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience across data science, software engineering, and AI engineering, including production deployments at scale.
• Advanced Python proficiency and strong experience with ML/AI frameworks, distributed systems, and system design.
• Expertise in predictive modeling, including time-series forecasting and customer churn modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, as well as MLOps, API development, Docker, Kubernetes, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience working with financial data and compliance-aware modeling, including SOX requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience building production agentic AI frameworks, tool-using agents, autonomous workflows, RAG systems, vector databases, and semantic search architectures.
• Experience leading large-scale AI initiatives and influencing technical strategy.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, model alignment, guardrails, and bias mitigation.
• Exceptional communication skills and experience mentoring technical teams.
