What you will do

• Conduct QA reviews of legal invoice line-item adjustments and non-adjusted lines using specialized legal expertise.
• Verify compliance of invoices against legal billing guidelines and UTBMS task codes.
• Resolve law firm appeals and handle escalated disputes through mediation or resolution conferences.
• Perform gap-filling analysis to decode the legal narrative of complex invoices.
• Analyze and condense legal service agreements to produce operational tools.
• Collaborate with the AI Decision Science team to refine machine learning functionality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in legal services or legal invoice auditing.
• Proven experience in direct communication and conflict resolution with law firms.
• Firm grasp of the Federal and/or State Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Must be based in Minneapolis, MN (onsite presence required for recruitment and work).
• Professional fluency in English (grammar, syntax, and style).

Nice to have

• Experience with insurance defense and civil litigation.
• Prior work experience with an insurance company.
• Experience in auditing claims litigation and handling appeals.
• Prior US and International legal invoice review experience.
