Survey Field Technician

Location: Newark, Ohio, United States

Salary: $25.00 per hour starting rate; final compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Assist with field surveys covering land features, boundaries, and topography for engineering and land development projects.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and set up GPS units, total stations, levels, and other survey equipment.
• Record field data, notes, and measurements accurately for project deliverables.
• Assist with survey reports, maps, and drawings based on collected field data.
• Work with the Survey Crew Chief and field crew to complete daily project objectives.
• Travel to project sites, support general field operations, and follow survey quality and safety procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in land surveying, construction layout, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of GPS, total stations, and data collectors is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
• Ability to lift, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
