Field Technician (AgTech)

Location: Remote position for candidates currently residing in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, or Colorado; eligible to work in the United States. Approximately 75% nationwide travel is required, including trips of up to 14 days.

Salary: On-target earnings estimated at $25–$30 per hour, including hourly, overtime, and incentive pay. Base hourly rate is $15; hours over 40 per week are paid at $22.50. Some technicians may earn approximately $100,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support row crop, rangeland, timber, and related field research and data-collection activities.
• Travel to assigned locations and collect accurate field data through physical soil sampling and sensor readings.
• Coordinate property access and field activities with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and other stakeholders.
• Operate, load, unload, transport, and maintain trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and field equipment.
• Prepare, label, pack, and ship samples to designated laboratories while documenting field activities and sample information.
• Report progress, field conditions, and equipment issues; support, troubleshoot, train, and onboard other technicians and partners.

Requirements

• Experience performing physical outdoor work in varied climates and weather conditions.
• Ability to regularly lift more than 50 pounds.
• Experience accurately capturing data, especially through soil sampling.
• Experience operating and transporting vehicles, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, and electronic field equipment.
• Proficiency with trailers or towing equipment and the ability to work independently during extended travel and overnight stays of up to 10 days.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.

Nice to have

• Farm, rangeland, timber, or field research experience.
• Ability to navigate difficult off-road terrain using an SBS/UTV.
