What you will do

• Act as the customer proxy within delivery teams to ensure business needs are accurately reflected in technical output.
• Translate business intent into detailed requirements, documentation, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform deep-dive data analysis, profiling, and validation using SQL to verify source-to-target mappings.
• Collaborate with tech leads to shape technical solutions and prioritize outcomes based on business value.
• Facilitate workshops and manage project artifacts including the backlog and RAID logs.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that delivered data products meet business goals.

Requirements

• Must be based in Sydney, Australia for hybrid work.
• Strong SQL fluency for independent data exploration, profiling, and validation.
• Proven experience as a technical BA, engagement analyst, or a data engineer moving into analysis.
• Ability to read and reason about data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and modern cloud data stacks.
• Expertise in requirements elicitation, workshop facilitation, and managing technical backlogs.
• Strong structured writing skills for producing high-quality specs and executive-level reports.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or dbt.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
