Aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

  • Develop Flight Simulation Physics Models for eVTOL aircraft.
  • Support vehicle-level trade studies.
  • Update electrical, thermal, and performance model fidelity based on lab and flight test data to support vehicle certification.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to integrate systems into comprehensive vehicle simulations.
  • Verify that business and regulatory requirements are met through design and analysis activities.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (MS or PhD highly desirable).
  • 5+ years of multi-physics simulation experience.
  • Expertise in numerical modeling and dynamic simulation of aerospace and mechanical systems.
  • High level of expertise in developing vehicle simulations in Simulink (MATLAB, Python, and SimScape are also desirable).
  • Experience with model testing, linearization, and refinement using continuous integration environments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

  • Experience modeling electric or hybrid powertrains.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 33 and RTCA DO-311A.
  • Experience using simulation for certification credit.
  • Knowledge of system identification techniques applied to aircraft or rotorcraft.
  • Flight testing or piloting experience (aircraft or rotorcraft).
