Focus on defining performance verification criteria, optimizing installation for mass and safety, and solving complex integration challenges across multidisciplinary systems.

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Base pay: $172,000–$216,000 per year

What you will do

  • Own turboshaft integration into the aircraft and manage mechanical interfaces.
  • Oversee turboshaft operation within its interfaces and operating environment.
  • Manage fuel, oil, exhaust, thermal, and other systems integrations.
  • Define pass criteria and testing conditions for performance verification.
  • Optimize the installation for mass, performance, maintainability, and safety.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience in complex systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of complex system integration and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Siemens NX and its suite of tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comprehensive technical reports and documentation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with turboshaft system integration or turbogenerator design principles.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, propulsion system simulation, and performance modeling.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics and analysis.
  • Experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains.
  • Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification and simulation model validation methods.
